Similar to Google Stadia, Microsoft, via its gaming branch Xbox launched, a preview access to Project xCloud. In contrast to Stadia, Microsoft will allow players to play Xbox games on mobiles phones and tablet from the cloud without the need of a client (game) being installed. Not to be confused with Xbox Console Streaming. Where players need an Xbox, with games installed on their consoles, to be allowed streaming on mobile devices.
The hardware, required to run Project xCloud, are phones or tablets running an operating system android version 6.0 or greater as well as Bluetooth version 4.0 and a supported controller with Bluetooth (Xbox controllers). A Wi-Fi or mobile data connection that supports 10Mbps-down is also needed.
Compared to Stadia's game catalogue (20 titles), the Project xCloud will offer 50 titles, amongst others, Tekken 7, Gears 5 and Sea of Thieves.
Only players of three regions are concerned by this preview: the United States, the United Kingdom and South Korea. This will be extended to other regions if the streaming experience meets the business and technical requirements.
